Obituary of Conrad M. Lawson

Mr. Conrad M. Lawson, 78, of Canal Street, Fort Plain, New York died Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville, following a short illness. Born on December 30th, 1936 in Marlboro, MA, he was the son of the late Arthur C. Lawson and Madeline Mixter Lawson. He was a graduate of North Yarmouth Academy, Class of June 1955. He spent the last 46 years in Fort Plain, previously residing in St. Albans, VT. Conrad was a proprietor / partner to several businesses including the Fort Plain Napa Auto Parts, Rickard-Baker Oil Co. in Fort Plain, as well as many local real estate holdings. Mr. Lawson had served in the U.S. Air Force as a surveyor after graduation. He was also a past member of the Canajoharie-Fort Plain Elks. Conrad will be remembered for his love of Corvettes, having owned 22 in his lifetime, being a avid poker player, and Harley Davidson enthusiast. In June 2015 at his home, Conrad married Cynthia A. Reynolds. He was pre-deceased by his first wife Beatrice Mossey on August 11, 2005, his second wife Marion Smith on June 10th 2012, and his sister Janet Dow. He is survived by wife Cynthia Lawson, of Fort Plain;4 children Valerie Lawson (Adam Parsons), Michael Lawson (Tina Lawson), Pamela Przybylo (Joseph Przybylo), Terry Allard (Peter Allard); brother, Philip Lawson; several step children, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A time of remembrance will be held from 3:00-6:00pm on Friday, September 4th, 2015, at Gray-Houghtaling and Smith, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY, 13339. Burial will take place at a later date at Fort Plain Cemetery. Following Conrads wishes his body was donated to Albany Medical College.
