Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Wrobel

Mrs. Jean Elizabeth Luft Wrobel, 77, of Little Falls, formerly of Fort Plain, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 11, 1938 in Fort Plain, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Alberta Sparks Luft. Jean was a life-long resident of Fort Plain, only recently moving to Little Falls. She graduated from Fort Plain Central School in 1956.
She worked numerous jobs throughout her life, but was known to many as a dedicated worker as the Store Manager of the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Fort Plain, of where she retired from at the time the store closed.
Jean married Bernard R. Wrobel on February 23, 1957 at the Fort Plain Reformed Church.
Jean was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Plain. She will always be remembered for the love she had for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a soft spot for her pets, especially for her cat "Baby Girl" and dog "Sheena".
Jean is survived by her children, Bernard John Wrobel of Sharon Springs, Terri Jean Preston (Jerry) of Fort Plain, and Scott James Wrobel (Ramona) of Fort Plain; siblings, Richard Luft of Fort Plain, and Gary Luft (Dianne) of Verona; a sister-in-law, Laurani Luft of Fonda; Grandchildren, Casey, Bernie John, Jason, Kelly, Shannon, Jennifer, and Kyle; as well as 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her brother, Paul Luft; grandson, Johnathon; and great-granddaughters, twins Alyssa and Jessica, and Serafina.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 1:00pm at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY with Rev. Zachary Labagh officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
