Obituary of Roseanne Edwards

Mrs. Roseanne Edwards (Eacker), 86, of South Glens Falls, NY, passed away peacefully November 17, 2016. She was born in Middlefield, NY, to Ella Beebe Shear and Adelbert Eacker. She graduated from Fort Plain High School, where she very much enjoyed her studies and school days. Roseanne left behind family who will miss her very much: her children, Rosalind Doneen (John Kay), of Tacoma WA; Rhonda Ryan & Chuck Wescott, James &Tammi Edwards, both of South Glens Falls, NY. She had a special bond with each of her grandchildren: Camille DePalo (Moses Roatch), Molly Shannon (Phil); Katlin & Matthew Edwards. Roseanne had two great grandchildren, Arianna & Blake. She leaves behind siblings - Clifford Eaker (Ruth), Adelbert Eacker (Eileen), and Richard Eacker (Doris). Siblings predeceased her: George (Lorna), Dorr (Nettie), Orville, Jake (Gertie), and, recently, Carol Dillenbeck (Kenny). Roseanne married Robert Edwards (Trigger) in 1949. They enjoyed vacations together in Maine, South Carolina, Florida along with the Pacific West Coast. Roseanne was very resourceful and served as a 4H leader. She was an avid bowler, and sports fan. She always enjoyed gardening, birdwatching and taking photos. She was an arm-chair tourist who traveled the world through the many books she read. She had fond memories of Adirondack hikes she & Robert took. Roseanne communicated beautifully through letters, writing to loved ones up until recently. She lived with Rhonda and Chuck for the last eight years and was able to be closer to the great grandkids and family pets. Our Mom, Roseanne, will be very missed. Thanks for all the good things you taught us. A special thank you to the staff of Glens Falls Hospital, 3rd Floor West for their love and support. We do appreciate you! A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Noon at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 10:00-12:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Fort Plain Cemetery.
