Milton L. Welsh, 91, of Elm Street, Pattersonville, New York, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 following a brief illness. Born on March 14, 1925 in Rotterdam Junction, he was the son of the late George and Agnes Kaufman Welsh. He was a graduate of Woestina High School, Class of 1943. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theatre as a SeaBee during World War II. Milt worked for the GSA, US Navy Base in Scotia, NY, as a fire fighter for many years. He also worked for the Mohawk Valley Library Association. He was an active member of Christ Church of the Hills in Schenectady. Milt was a member of the Amsterdam Masonic Lodge #84, Princetown Hourglass Seniors, and the Pattersonville Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a volunteer for the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. On October 23, 1948 at Scotch Church, Milton was married to Marilyn McKee. His brother Arthur Welsh and sisters Ruth Davis and Betty Wharton predeceased him. Milt is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marilyn Welsh; daughter, Susan and husband Andrew Finnegan; sons, Jeffrey and wife Elaine Welsh, Gregory and wife Betsy Welsh; grandchildren, Bridget and husband Charlie Davis, Christopher Welsh, Jaime Welsh, Tyler and wife Heather Welsh, Evan Welsh; great-grandchildren, Frances and Pyper Davis; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on February 11 at 1 PM at Christ Church of the Hills, 4809 Mariaville Road, Schenectady, NY.
