Albert A. "Butch" MacRorie, 70, of St. Hwy. 5, St. Johnsville, New York, died Monday morning, January 14, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, New York after a brief illness.
He was born in Little Falls, New York, on September 27, 1937, the son of Albert M. MacRorie and Viola Gray.
Albert was educated at Fort Plain Central Schools.
Mr. MacRorie was a signal man for ConRail Railroad for 32 years.
He has been a resident of St. Johnsville, New York since 1980, previously residing in Little Falls, New York.
Mr. MacRorie was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was an avid sports enthusiast, especially enjoying baseball and football.
He is survived by a daughter, Tracey Lyn and her husband Daniel Gray of Sprakers, New York and two granddaughters, Morgan and Riley Gray of Sprakers, New York.
Services for Mr. MacRorie are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Burial will take place in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery in Canajoharie, New York.
