Obituary of Dorothy Lee Sherman

Dorothy "Dottie" Lee Sherman, 69, of Clark Ave., Fort Plain, New York, died peacefully on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, New York following a long illness. She was born in Newport, Kentucky of February 27, 1938, the daughter of Robert Royse and Leola Johnston. Dottie married her former husband, Harry A. Bullock in 1956 and relocated to New York State. She spent most of her life as a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Sherman was also a homemaker and resturant manager. She was a member of the Fort Plain Reformed Church. Mrs. Sherman was a member and former president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fort Plain VFW Post #3275. Her hobbies included crotcheting, fishing, and reading. Dottie was married on August 22, 1985 in Fort Plain, NY to Clyde" Hoop" Sherman who predeceased her on February 4, 1999. She is survived by her Daughters, Debra and Brian Simon of Randall, NY, Beverly and Nathaniel Franklin of Palatine Bridge, NY, Sharon and Matthew Tucci of Mohawk, NY, Susan Rush and her Fiance' Steve Kelsey of Fort Plain, NY; a Son-in-law, Matthew Cadwell. She is also survived by her Step-Daughters, Kathi Ryder of Dennis Port, MA and Nancy and David Nogash of Kenneth Square, PA; her brothers; Robert Royse Jr. of Dayton, OH, James Royse of Dayton, OH, Larry Royse of Fairborn, OH, and Steve Royse of Orlando, FL., her sisters; Joann Webb of Waynsville, OH, Linda Jennings of Bentonville, AR, Janice Perry of Beavercreek, OH, and Bonnie Root of Enon, OH, her grandchildren, who knew her as "Grammy", Melissa, Shane, Carrie, Brian, Katie, Rodney, Tyler, Courtney, Lindsay, Tracy, Jackie and Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Zachery, Blaze, Triniti, Israel and Maxwell. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Robert and Leola Royse; her husband, Clyde "Hoop" Sherman; a brother, Frank Royse, and her granddaughter Susan Lee Tucci.
