Alida B. Marosek, 92, of Main Street, Fort Plain, New York, died Wednesday night, March 19, 2008 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica, NY.
Alida was born on April 7, 1915 in New Haven, CT. She was the daughter of Frank Ballda and Catherine Conrad.
She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School. She received a Bachelor's of teaching degree from Syracuse University. Alida then received her Master's degree in teaching from Albany State University.
Mrs. Marosek retired from teaching at Fort Plain Central School. Previously she taught first at St. Johnsville then at Little Falls School.
She had been a resident of Fort Plain since 1950. Prior to that she lived in New Haven, CT, Elmira and Rochester.
Mrs. Marosek was a member of the Reformed Church of Fort Plain.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Alida was married in 1952 to Walter Marosek at the bride's home in Fort Plain, NY. He predeceased her on December 29, 1979.
Mrs. Marosek is survived by a daughter, Debra and her husband CliftonWilder of Rome, NY; two sons, Lt. Col. Steven and his wife Maureen Dodge of Ozark, AL, Wallace F. and wife Anne Marosek of Boston, MA; a step-son, Walter and his wife Elizabeth Marosek of Fort Plain, NY. She is also survived by four grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
