Mr. Albert T. Nalli, 87, of Clark Ave., Fort Plain, New York, died Thursday morning, March 20, 2008 at his home.
He was born on March 3, 1921 in Fort Plain, NY, the son of Rocco Nalli and Anna Cellini Nalli.
He attended Fort Plain Schools.
Mr. Nalli was employed at the John Hancock Life Insurance Agency for over 35 years, retiring as District Manager.
He was a lifetime resident of Fort Plain.
Mr. Nalli served in the US Army, as Sergeant First Class during World War II and during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Nalli was a Fort Plain Village Trustee from 1969-1987. He was Mayor of Fort Plain from 1989-1997.
He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church.
Albert was the chairman for the district American Cancer Society. He was a board member of the Fort Plain Senior Center. He was also a member of the Fort Plain VFW Earl Stock Memorial Post #3275 as well as being a member of the National Association of Life Underwriters.
Albert was married on June 9, 1946 to Melissa Hagarbome at St. James Roman Catholic Church.
In addition to his devoted wife of 61 years, Melissa Nalli, Mr. Nalli is also survived by his son, Albert and his wife Barbara Nalli of Aliquippa, PA; his daughter, Tosca and her husband Robert Carpenter of Portsmouth, RI; a sister, Ada Francisco of St. Johnsville, NY; and a brother, Rocco Nalli of Fort Plain, NY. He is also survived by two grandsons, Joshua Nalli of Columbus, OH and Zachary Carpenter of Franklin Falls, NY; a granddaughter, Simone Kiper of Lexington, KY; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
