Mr. John C. Faraci, 86, of Garfield Street, Fort Plain, New York died Monday, March 24, 2008 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown following a short illness.
He was born on September 16, 1921 in Roxbury, NY, a son of Ignazio Faraci and Salvatrice Pazza.
Mr. Faraci was a graduate of Roxbury High School.
He was a machinist for Beech-Nut Corp. in Canajoharie, NY until his retirement in 1986.
John had been a resident of Fort Plain since 1951, previously residing in Roxbury, NY.
He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church.
Mr. Faraci was a former Cub Master for Pack 61 in Fort Plain. He was active in leadership of the Boy Scout troop 61. He was also a former member of the Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service. He was a former coach of little league baseball. Mr. Faraci was an avid fisherman and boating enthusist.
John was married on November 14, 1943 in Roxbury, NY to Jean Ciaravino. They celebrated 64 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife Jean Faraci of Fort Plain, NY, John is also survived by two sons, Joe and Karla Faraci of Fort Worth, TX, Larry and Sharon Faraci of Utica, NY; two daughters, Robin and Richard Rivenburg of Frankfort, NY, Christine Boutell of Wilmington, NC; a brother, Charles V. and Helen Faraci of Roxbury, NY. John is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
