Mr. Harold G. Spaulding, 44, of Aird Road, Fort Plain, New York, died suddenly early Friday morning, April 11, 2008 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown.
Born on February 15, 1964, he was the son of James Putnam Sr. and June Mowers Putnam.
Mr. Spaulding attended Fort Plain Central Schools.
He was a contract hauler for Agway Energy Products for many years. He was most recently employed by Suburban Propane/Agway. He was also the owner of Fort Plain News and Variety.
Mr. Spaulding was a lifelong area resident.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Freysbush, NY.
Harold was a member of the NRA. He was also a member of the Otsquago Fish & Game Club. He collected knives, enjoyed target shooting, his motorcycles and snowmobiles.
Harold was married on May 30, 1981 at St. John's Lutheran Church to Helen Gray.
In addition to his wife, Helen Spaulding of Fort Plain, NY he is also survived by his parents; father, James Putnam, Sr. and his wife Toni of Fort Plain, NY, and his mother, June Mowers Putnam; a daughter, Amanda M. Spaulding of Broadalbin, NY; a son, Michael G. Spaulding of Fort Plain, NY; his maternal grandmother, Marie Gleason of Penn Yan, NY. Also surviving are six brothers, Dale Spaulding of Canajoharie, NY, Dana Spaulding of Fort Plain, NY, James Putnam Jr. of Springfield Center, NY, Christopher Putnam of Fort Plain, NY, Zane Spaulding of Canajoharie, NY, Chad Spaulding of Canajoharie, NY; two sisters, Lesley M. Horning of Fort Plain, NY, Rachel Millington of Fort Plain, NY; his mother and father-in-law, Leonard and Gloria Gray of Fort Plain, NY; close friend, Albon "Bub" Harrington, as well as several Aunts, Uncles, Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
