Peter D'Arcangelis, 87, of Miller Rd., Brewerton, NY, formerly of Hancock St., Fort Plain, NY, died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Francis House in Syracuse, NY, following a brief illness.
Born on July 13, 1920 in Fort Plain, NY he was the son of Timothy D'Arcangelis and Anna Evangelista.
He was a graduate of Fort Plain Central School, Class of 1938.
Mr. D'Arcangelis was employed at Beech-Nut Corp. as a supervisor in the gum department.
Mr. D'Arcangelis served in the United States Army during World War II with a rank of Tech 4 Grade.
He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church.
Mr. D'Arcangelis loved gardening and spending time with his family.
On July 12, 1941 he married Anna D'Arcangelis at St. Peter's & Paul's Catholic Church in Canajoharie, NY. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2003. He was also predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
Mr. D'Arcangelis is survived by three daughters, Deanna and Dick Irwin of Greer, South Carolina, Ginny and Al Congemi of Castleton, New York, and Mary Jayne D'Arcangelis of Liverpool, New York; a sister, Lucia D. Gudlewski of Fort Plain, NY; grandchildren, Tim Irwin of Liverpool, NY, Lori Brown of Gram TX, Rick Irwin of Greer, SC, Dia Borrow of Bolton, NY, Michael Congemi of Castelton, NY, and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
