Obituary of Doris I. Fredericks

Mrs. Doris I. Fredericks, 78, of Moyer Street, Canajoharie, New York, died early Wednesday morning, November 19, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.
Born on December 21, 1929 in the Town of Glen, NY, she was the daughter of William Becker and Belle Hazzard.
Mrs. Fredericks was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, class of 1948.
She was most recently employed as a cook at McDonald's in Palatine Bridge. Doris previously worked for Tempelton in Fonda, the Dress Shop in Canajoharie, Johnstown Knit in Fort Plain, Arkell Hall in Canajoharie and Montgomery Meadows in Amsterdam.
She was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Fredericks became a member of the Canajoharie Women of the Moose this year. She was an avid bowler, NASCAR fan, and loved animals.
Mrs. Fredericks served on the Board of Elections for 26 years and was also a Democratic Chairperson for 20 years.
On April 23, 1954 she married Edward Fredericks at the Trinity Lutheran Church Parsonage in Stone Arabia. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1980.
Mrs. Fredericks is survived by a son, Edward Fredericks of Sprakers, NY; three daughters, Debra Rathbun of Fultonville, NY, Patricia Fredericks of Canajoharie, NY, Pamela Dingman of Gloversville, NY; and a sister, Evelyn Lindley of Sprakers, NY. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
