Mrs. Wanda P. Waner, 85, of Seebers Lane in Canajoharie, New York, died early Saturday morning, January 31, 2009, at Palatine Nursing Home following a long illness.
Born on January 10, 1924, Mrs. Waner is the daughter of Michael and Helen Warchalowski Patulski.
She graduated from Canajoharie High School, Class of 1941.
She was a lifelong area resident and was employed as an accountant for Beech-Nut Corp. in Canajoharie from 1964-1985.
Mrs. Waner was a communicant of St. John's & St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Canajoharie.
Mrs. Waner loved flower gardening and was active in the Canajoharie/Fort Plain Garden Club. She enjoyed antique collecting, golf and bowling. She also enjoyed spending summers with the family at their camp on Caroga Lake. She was a wonderful artist and one of her proudest moments was when one of her paintings was chosen for the Juried Arts Show at the former Canajoharie Art Gallery.
Mrs. Waner was married to Valentine "Val" C. Waner, III on September 25, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2008. She is survived by her children, Kathi and her husband Richard Allen of Fonda, New York, Valentine "Bud" Waner IV and his wife JoAnn of Fort Plain, New York, Amy and her husband John Birchler of Glenville, New York, Andrea and her husband Doug Hoyt of Wheatridge, Colorado. She is also survived by a grandson, Douglas Gallup of New York City, and a sister Amelia Keene of San Jose, California.
