Obituary of Lexie J. Blakeslee

Mrs. Lexie J. Blakeslee, 67, of Lydius Street, Fort Plain, New York, died Tuesday morning, March 31, 2009 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital in Utica, following a brief illness.
Born on August 22, 1941in Canajoharie, NY, she was the daughter of Lincoln Fralick and Elizabeth Ballard Fralick. She attended school in Fort Plain. Mrs. Blakeslee was a lifetime area resident.
Mrs. Blakeslee spent most of her career working for Johnstown Knitting Mill. Most recently she worked for LaSalle Labs.
She was of Methodist faith.
Mrs. Blakeslee donated to the Community Animal Programs (C.A.P.) and to the Helping Animals Live Organization (H.A.L.O., Inc.), which are two animal help groups in Little Falls, NY. She also made donations to the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, Inc.
She was married to Manley Blakeslee. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1975.
In addition to her husband, she is also predeceased by two brothers, Lincoln and Vernard Fralick; and a sister, Betty Hamilton.
Mrs. Blakeslee is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth C. Pendergrass of Mohawk, NY; a sister, Lydia Smith of Fort Plain, NY; a brother, Elmer Fralick of NC; three grandsons, Calvin Pendergrass who is currently stationed at Fort Hood, TX, Kyle Pendergrass of Mohawk, NY, and Todd Pendergrass of Mohawk, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a special kitty cat, Cali and her bird, Tweet.
