Obituary of Rose M. Morgan

Mrs. Rose M. Morgan, 93, formerly of Beck Street, Fort Plain and most recently of Palatine Nursing Home died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at St. Mary's Healthcare of Amsterdam, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 24, 1922 in Canajoharie, NY, she was the daughter of Joseph Fiacchi and Mary Pelligrini Fiacchi. She attended West Hill School in Canajoharie and was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Morgan was a machine operator for LaSalle Labs for over 30 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Mrs. Morgan enjoyed drawing, knitting, cooking, and the flowers in her yard. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On July 14, 1973 in Canajoharie, NY, Rose was married to James F. Morgan, Sr. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1989. Her son, David Berard; brothers, William Fiacchi, Norman Fiacchi; sisters, Pauline Horning, and Angeline Williams also predeceased her. Mrs. Morgan is survived by her daughter, Sharon Sanders of Canajoharie, NY; brother, Joseph and Betty Fiacchi of MA; grandchildren, Lisa Logan and her husband, Tom, Jason Sanders; great-grandchildren, Skylar Logan, Kendra Logan, Isabella Sanders, Jenaya Aponte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, February 16th from 4:00-7:00pm at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY. Burial will take place in St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery in Canajoharie in the spring.
