Mrs. Dorothy L. Wilder, 88, of Crouse Street, Fort Plain, New York, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Little Falls Hospital, following a brief illness. Born on August 26, 1920 in Schoharie County, she was the daughter of Edward and Ella Inghram. She was a graduate of Schoharie High school and a Fort Plain resident for over 72 years. Mrs. Wilder was a machine operator for Life Savers in Canajoharie, NY for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Plain. Mrs. Wilder was a life member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #987 in Canajoharie, NY. She enjoyed flowers and animals. On October 22, 1936 she married Charles C. Wilder in Esperance, NY. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1990. In addition to her husband she is also predeceased by a brother, Harold Inghram. Mrs. Wilder is survived by her sons, Clifton E. Wilder and his wife Debra of Rome, NY, Richard A. Wilder and his wife Barbara J. of Clifton Park, NY; daughter, Joan Smida of Fonda, NY; brother, Fred Inghram of Schoharie County, NY; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 1:00pm at Fort Plain Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
