Obituary of Beatrice M. Whitehouse

Mrs. Beatrice M. Whitehouse, 92, of Honeyhill Rd., Fort Plain, NY died Monday, August 3, 2009 at Mountain Valley Hospice House, Gloversville, NY following a brief illness. Born on April 26, 1917 in Ephratah, NY, she was the daughter of Herbert Kneeskern and Martha Thompson Kneeskern. Mrs. Whitehouse was a mother and homemaker and worked on the farm with her husband. During World War II she also worked at Remington Arms as a supervisor and at Beech-Nut for a short period of time. Mrs. Whitehouse was a Fort Plain resident for about 40 years and previously resided in Ephratah, NY. Mrs. Whitehouse was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mrs. Whitehouse was married on July 30, 1949 to Gerald O. Whitehouse in Gloversville, NY. Mr. Whitehouse predeceased his wife on November 16, 2008. She is survived by her sons: David and wife Mona Whitehouse of Little Falls, NY and Mr. Timothy Whitehouse of Alexandria, VA.; a brother Donald & Audrey Hisert of Fort Plain, NY; four grandsons and two step-granddaughters. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339 with Mr. Mark Crewell officiating. Interment will take place after the memorial service at the Ephratah Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, NY 12078
