Mr. Walter A. "Wally" Pawlaczyk, 41, of Oswegatchie Road, Palatine Bridge, New York, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, August 14, 2009.
Mr. Pawlaczyk was born December 10, 1967 in Gloversville, New York and attended Sharon Springs Schools. He recently worked for Target Distribution Center in Amsterdam, New York as a Security Guard. Wally was instrumental in starting Life Works and presently was serving as its president. He devoted many hours to Life Works, a program which helps people with drug or alcohol problems get rehabilitated and be, once again, productive members of society.
Wally is survived by his soul-mate, Kimberly Wilder, with whom he has spent the past 20 years. He is also survived by three sons, Chad R. Wilder, Christopher J. Pawlaczyk and Kenneth L. Pawlaczyk of Palatine Bridge, New York, his mother and father, Betty and Ken Pessolano of Ames, New York, his biological father, Lawrence Pawlaczyk, his brother, George Pawlaczyk of Sharon Springs, two sisters, Cathy Monk of Canajoharie, New York, Tonya Trafton of Dorloo, New York, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Lawrence E. Pawlaczyk who died on May 5, 2007.
The service will take place on Tuesday, August 18, at 11:00 AM at Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie , New York with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. Calling hours will be on Monday, August 17 from 2:00-4:00 and from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 21 at 2:00 PM at the Ames Cemetery, Route 10, Ames, New York.
