Obituary of Victoria P. Countryman

Mrs. Victoria P. Countryman, 90, formerly of Schultze Street, Canajoharie, NY, died Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Folts Home in Herkimer, NY, following a brief illness.
Born on October 10, 1918 in St. Johnsville, NY, she was the daughter of Frank Pohleven and Julia Halter Pohleven. She was educated in St. Johnsville Schools. Mrs. Countryman was a resident of Canajoharie since 1949, previously residing in St. Johnsville.
She was most recently employed at Life Savers, for 37 years in the gum production department.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain, NY. She was also a member of the 25 year club at Life Savers, a member of the former St. Peter's & Paul's Rosary Society, and a member of the Fort Plain Senior Citizens Group.
On October 1, 1949 at the former St. Patrick's Catholic Church in St. Johnsville, she was married to Paul D. Countryman. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1971.
In addition to her husband she was also predeceased by her three sisters, Rose Merlak, Hilda Weihert and Julia Pohleven.
Survivors include two nieces, Deloris Rose of Texas, Belinda Mussey of Johnstown, NY; and a nephew, DuWayne Pohleven of Palatine Bridge, NY.
