Vicki Lou Swartz Lambert of Gonzales, Texas passed away from cancer on January 13, 2025.
Vicki was born on July 13, 1952, to Karl Swartz and Marjorie Smith Swartz in Ft. Plain, New York. She graduated from Ft. Plain High School in 1971. She went on to study to be a medical secretary at Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts.
In 1973 Vicki married William Rutherford. They went on to have 2 children. Wendy Marie and Michael Anthony. Vicki and William were later divorced. Vicki then married Donald Lambert in 1998.
Vicki had a great childhood. She grew up on a dairy farm with her brother and sister. She enjoyed 4-H. She was a member of the CAR(Children of the American Revolution). She had a strong family heritage that she was proud of. Her grandma taught her tatting and she continued to bless people with her talent throughout her life.
Vicki loved being a mom, grandma, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was able to live in a lot of different places in the country. One of her favorite places was Pennsylvania because of her large vegetable garden. It was her happy place. She was a very devoted mother and always put herself last. She was an example of unconditional love and kindness to all those she interacted with.
Vicki and Don had many adventures together. They loved trying different businesses. In later years they moved to Texas and lived close to her sister.
Everyone who knew Vicki would say how kind and friendly she was. She was a caregiver to many people. She took care of her husband for the last 7 years of her life and was very devoted to him. She will be so missed.
Vicki was predeceased in death by her parents, her sister Sandy, her brother, Karl Swartz Jr., and grandson Jackson.
She is survived by her husband Donald Lambert, sister Sally Smith(Andy), daughter Wendy (Rustin) Brunson, son Mike Rutherford(Diane), and sister-in-law Nancy Swartz. She had 2 stepsons Brian(Maria)and Heath(Jessica) She was blessed to have 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren with one more soon to be here.
There will be a celebration of life at a later time and she will be laid to rest in Fillmore, Utah. Instead of flowers please make a memorial contribution in her memory to your favorite charity.
