Obituary of John H. Harrison

Mr. John H. Harrison, 61, of Stone Arabia Road, Palatine Bridge, NY, died Saturday, November 23, 2024, at his home surrounded by family and friends.

John was born on September 23, 1963, the son of Ronald H. Harrison and Angie Christiano Kretser.

He attended Canajoharie Schools.

After school, he worked at Pamkowski Farm and then Pavlus Farm. He then took a job at Beech-Nut for several years before he went to work for Syrstone, where he installed granite curbing until his retirement.

John lived in the local area his entire life and was of the Christian faith.

He enjoyed camping, watching race cars on dirt tracks, and going to car shows.  He was a member of the Ephratah Rod and Gun Club and the Trailblazers Snowmobile Club.

His father, Ronald H. Harrison, and his stepfather, Bill Kretser, predeceased him.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Sandra Duesler; mother, Angie Kretser; brothers Ron Harrison, Dave Harrison, Mike Harrison, Billy Kretser, and Eric Kretser; stepbrother George Kretser; stepsister Wendy Kretser; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 3:00 to 5:00 on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Houghtaling and Hanley Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
