Theodore I. Weingates Obituary

Theodore I. Weingates

(Ted)

1/4/1947 - 10/22/2024

Ted Weingates, 77, of St. Johnsville, passed away peacefully at the St. Johnsville nursing home after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.  Early in life, Ted knew he wanted to be a farmer, and he pursued that passion.  He first started on his family's farm in Herkimer, NY, to then venture out on his own, still staying in the area.  Ted truly had passion and love for farm work and his animals.  He spent every day he could walking, primarily to Fort Plain Stewart’s where he would talk to as many people possible. Ted was a great man who had a story and a smile to anyone that would stop to talk to him on his daily adventures.

He is predeceased by his Mother and Father, Hazel and Erwin Weingates.

He is survived by his sister Patricia (Mahlon) Rockwell of Ft. Plain and his brother Thomas (Lorraine) Weingates of New Mexico, as well as many Nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and Nephews.
