Obituary of Marion Valerie Blakeslee

Mrs. Marion “Polly” Valerie Blakeslee, 95, of Palatine Bridge, NY, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY.
Polly was born in Canajoharie, NY, on February 20, 1929, the daughter of Oscar and Evelyn Dittman Pelletier.
Mrs. Blakeslee graduated from Fort Plain High School.
While she was working, she worked as a label printer at the former Johnstown Knit Co., Johnstown, NY.
She lived her entire life in the local area and was of Catholic Faith.
In her spare time, she enjoyed bingo, playing cards, doing scratch offs, singing, dancing, telling dirty jokes, cooking, sharing the food she made with everyone, and being a mother to everybody.
On November 29, 1947, she married Cherubino “Beano” Marcellino. He predeceased her on November 23, 1970. She was also predeceased in death by her parents, sister Yvonne Rumrill, and 1/2 sister Sherry Strait.
She is survived by her daughters Altea “Taya” Kardash (Ronald) of Fort Plain, NY, and Tina Bauer (Bo) of Vincentown, NJ; grandsons Anthony Smith (Amy Wright) and Joe Kardash (Caralee); granddaughter Rhonda Kardash Lasko (Kevin); step-grandson Gregory Smith (Erin); Several Great-Grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to recognize and express its gratitude to her caregivers, Scott Larkin, Linda Dellinger, and Jake Cotton, for their excellent care of her over the years.
A Graveside service will be held at Fort Plain Cemetery on Friday, September 20th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
