Obituary of Robert H. Tyler

Mr. Robert H. Tyler, Sr., 79, of State Street, Fort Plain, New York, died, Monday, December 14, 2009 at St. Johnsville Nursing Home following a short illness. Born on August 12, 1930 in Cooperstown, NY, he was the son of Herbert Tyler and Celia Getman Tyler. Mr. Tyler attended Frankfort Center School. He had been a resident of Fort Plain since 1979, previously residing in St. Johnsville. Most recently Mr. Tyler worked on the family farm on Rockhill Road in Mohawk, NY with his father and brother Roy. He was of Protestant faith. On September 7, 1957 in Paynes Hollow Methodist Church Mr. Tyler married Janet M. Hurteau. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Janet M. Tyler of Fort Plain, NY, Mr. Tyler is also survived by his son, Robert H. Tyler, Jr. of Fort Plain, NY; daughter, Peggy Tyler of Fort Plain, NY; grandsons, Timothy R. Fonda, Jr., John J. Mykel; granddaughter, Lee A. Mykel Cotton; great-grandchildren, Americus J.L. Cotton, Tyler M. Cotton; twin sister, Roberta Young of Richfield Springs, NY; and a brother, Roy Tyler of Salt Springville, NY.
