Obituary of William Charles Sanders

On Thursday, June 20th, 2024, William C "Bill" Sanders, 74, went home to be with the Lord following a fall at his home in Syracuse, NY.
Bill was born on January 15, 1950, and graduated from Canajoharie High School, Canajoharie, NY, Class of 1968. While in High School, Bill was a top wrestler, a Clinton Road Clippers 4H Club member, and a member of the youth group at First Baptist Church of Fort Plain, NY.
He was of the Baptist faith.
After graduating High School, Bill graduated from trade school in Schenectady, NY, with a certificate in construction and carpentry. He started his own company and was self-employed for his entire work career. He worked and lived in the Central NY area and Springfield, VA. He returned to NY upon retirement in 2015.
Bill enjoyed working and serving in area churches wherever he lived. His favorite ministries were driving the church buses for children and families to attend church and camp together. He also assisted in remodeling area churches and helping families in need. Bill was well known for his laughter and ability to have fun in any situation.
Bill was pre-deceased by his parents, Milford and Eleanor Sanders, and his brothers, Richard M. and Stephan M. Sanders.
He is survived by a maternal aunt, Mrs. Barbara Lewis of Scotia, NY; Paternal Aunt/uncle, Patricia/Arnold Brown of Landing, NJ; Sisters, Shirley/Tom White (WI), Barbara Sanders (FL), Beth/Kris Skottke, (NY), brother Tim Sanders (NC), several nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, and one great-great nephew.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Bill on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Grandview Baptist Church, 15 Washington Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. His lifelong friend Larry Alkinburgh will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to Grandview Baptist Church, 15 Washington Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
