Obituary of Darlene May Weed

Mrs. Darlene May Weed, 65, most recently of St. Johnsville, NY,  passed away at home on June 14, 2024. 

Darlene was born in Binghamton, NY, on  May 18, 1959, the daughter of Kenneth Nichols and Dona Dow. 

Darlene had lived in Fort Plain for about 20 years before she moved to St. Johnsville.

She graduated from high school and went on to get her CNA. From here, she worked at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home for 15+ years. After this, she went to work for Superior Home Healthcare of Fort Plain. She currently worked selling things she has made through an online store. 

Her hobbies included making diamon art, crocheting, listening to the scanner, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed collecting woven figures and artwork and watching the New England Patriots. 

She was predeceased in death by her father Kenneth Nichols, stepmother Doris Nichols, and stepfather Robert Dow. 

Darlene is survived by her mother, Dona Dow, sons Scott Nichols (Leanne), and Kurt Weed (Desiree), daughter Casey Weed (Martin), and Tonya Mott, her siblings Dale, Gloria, Robin, Betty, Patty, and  Lisa; and stepsister Connie, special niece Dory, her grandchildren Gage, Nevaeh, Issiah, Madison, Tessa, Trent, Raylynne, Kair, Kurt, Jr., Sabastion, Ryan, Steven, Joe, McKanzie, and Anna; two great-grandchildren Ciarra and Sylas as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Darlenes' life will be held on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, starting at 12:00 noon at Glimmerglass State Park in Cooperstown, NY.

Fort Plain Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339, will handle the cremation arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
