Mr. Ronald "R.J." Keith Jacobitz, 82, most recently of Gloversville, NY, passed away on May 21, 2024, at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility.

R.J. was born in Johnstown, NY, on July 10, 1941, the son of the late Steven R. Jacobitz and Maxine Baisner (Jacobitz) Blood.

He was a proud graduate of Johnstown High School and a lifelong resident of the local area, with much of his life spent in Florida. His career as a disc jockey and sports broadcaster, spanning multiple media outlets nationwide, was a testament to his passion and dedication. Even in his later years, he was recognized at the Fulton Center as the legendary "R.J. the DJ Jacobitz," a title that filled him with immense pride and joy.

From 1959 until his discharge in 1963, he served in the US Air Force, obtaining the rank of E-3.

Everyone who knew him knew of his love of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, his intense love of horse racing, and his love of a good round of golf.

He is survived by his son Aaron Michael Jacobitz; grandchildren Alixandra "Alie" Grace Jacobitz and Hayden Faith Jacobitz.

A graveside service for R.J. will be held on  Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 11:30 AM at the Gerald B. Solomon National Cemetery ( aka the Saratoga National Cemetery), Duel Road, Schuylerville, NY.

Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in his memory, please do so to a charity of one's choice.
