Mrs. Adelaide Schaad, 82, most recently of Gloversville, NY, died on February 24, 2024, at Nathan Littuer Hospital, Gloversville, NY.

Adelaide was born in Phoenix, New York, on December 10, 1941, the daughter of John Bailey and Bessie Brewster Bailey.

She graduated high school and worked as a loan officer at the Navy Credit Union in Parris Island, SC, until her retirement.

Six weeks ago, she moved to Gloversville to live with her daughter following her son's passing, who had previously lived in Virginia.

For 38 years, she was married to a retired sergeant. Major Richard A. Schadd, he predeceased her in 1995.

She was also predeceased by her two sons, John in 2018 and Richard II in 2024.

Survivors include her daughter Marnie Klingbeil; grandchildren Richard III, Jack, Mary Anne, Jeremy, and Sarah; many great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation arrangments are under the direction of Houghtaling and Hanley Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.

The family will be holding a graveside service of internet privately and at a later date at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
