My Aunt Carol ( my adoptive mother & friend); We've talked about this numerous of times since I was child ,but she saved me . It was the summer of the second grade ,and i was trying my best to just stay out of the way , and still couldn't seem to say or do anything right . She had talked our mother into letting me stay a few days in her home in Sprakers .. She was helping with VBS ( Vacation Bible School ) and had invited me to go . I was both very nervous and excited at the time as I had never been to church . I went and was in her class and when we got back to her house she asked me what I thought . I told her I really had a good time !! She asked if I had wanted to go again and I had said yes !! I was so excited ,but yet worried i wouldn't be able stay and go . She had said : sweetie you let me worry about that ,I'll take care of it ( and she did ) ! I stayed a whole week !! On Sunday she invited me to Sunday service and it was in Currytown .. You see they had only one person to perform services and that was the Reverend Faulkner and his family (his wife was Karen) and they had two small children and the personage was across the road from the Currytown church on Hilltop Rd .. Afterwards there was a potluck in the basement area off of the kitchen area .. And I was introduced to so many adults and everyone of them greeted me hugs and smiles . I was overwhelmed , wasn't used to that sort of attention. She asked me again in the car what thought and if I wanted to go again (and I did ) . From that moment on I began going to and being very much involved the churches ,even teaching Sunday school ! Aunt Carol and our mother grew up together and were life-long friends ,they were like sisters so much that they even argued as much like siblings . At that time in my life she was married to Dickie Monk (a very nice man) and they had two children Robin ( Robbie to me ) and Stacey was the youngest of the girls (she was my youngest brothers age) .She married my Uncle Bob on the day of my Aunt Alices graduation party (at Wintergreen Park) .It ended up pouring out that day and the adults moved the parties to the Mapletown grange on Mapletown Rd ; that day .. What a party that was !!! I had just finished the eighth grade and starting high school in the fall . Through out my life she has always been there for me ; emotional , spiritually, physically ,mentally... I've always been able to count on her and my Aunt Alice to be there for me .. She wasn't actually my mom , but she was in my heart and she was always lovingly and willingly offering to be there for me . She was lovingly my teacher on how to love God and how to except love and I will forever in my heart be greatful to her .. Aunt Carol ,is such a big part of our families and she is missed so very much . Uncle Bob; thank you for making her a part of the family and becoming my aunt .Robin & Stacey , thank you for always being so very kind and loving my sweet Uncle like your dad ( he means the world to me ) .. We've all known each other since we were born because of our mothers lifelong friendship .We may not see each other all the time ,but I will always love you (no matter what ) .. If there is anything at all that I can do now or in the future ,I'm here .. Always , always .. I love you all ; Marylynn & Family OXOXOXO'S
