Edward Zeidner Obituary
Mr. Edward Zeidner, 83, of River Road, Fort Plain, NY died on September 12, 2023, at St. Mary’s Healthcare, following a battle with covid phenomena.
Ed was born in Hartwick Seminary, NY on April 8, 1940, the son of Karl and Doris Loring Zeidner, both who predeceased him. He graduated from Springfield Highschool.
He retired from Beech-Nut in Canajoharie, NY after working as a forklift operator for over 35 years.
Ed lived his entire life in the local area. He loved bowling, gardening, camping, taking trips, mowing lawns, blowing snow, rototilling gardens, or anything else that allowed him to help or be around people. He also was the president of Coon Hollow Engine and Tractor Club, and a member of the Fort Plain Senior Citizens, which he thoroughly enjoyed being part of.
Besides his parents, Ed was predeceased by his first wife, Janet Zeidner, second wife, Hazel K. Zeidner, and brothers William, Jack, and Kenny.
Survivors include his companion Shirley VanAernam: his daughter Carol and her husband Earl Swank; brothers Fritz Zeidner and Karl Zeidner; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Ed’s life is being planned and will be announced.
