Obituary of Dorothy Ann Burak

Mrs. Dorothy Ann Burak, "Dottie", 66, Gewey Road, Fultonville, NY, died on August 13, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on June 4, 1957, in Amsterdam, NY, the daughter of Walter Daniel Lynaugh, and Harriet Luck Duross.

Dottie attended Johnstown High School and went on to work as the surgical coordinator/secretary at MVO in Johnstown NY for many years, recently retiring.  She had also worked for Dr London, and Schenectady Cardiology Associates. She had lived for many years in Fultonville and was of Catholic Faith.

She enjoyed crafting, and making afghans, quilts, sewing, and crocheting. Her amazing cooking skills will be missed by all who enjoyed her cooking.

Throughout her life she had welcomed many children into her home, through foster care and other outreach programs, which led to many lifesaving and life altering paths for these children.  Everyone who knew her will remember how this spoke of her as a person and how her decisions to do this will be forever remembered by all that she helped.

She is survived by her fiancé, Michael Hotaling, who had been by her side starting in 2001, with them getting engaged in 2003, she is also survived by her mother, Harriet and her husband George Duross; Step-Mother Delores Lynaugh; sons whom she loved unconditionally Michael Burak, AJ Burak, and Nicolas Burak; step daughter Tammy Burak; brothers Edward, Dan and Brian; sisters Patty, Melissa, and Kristen;  grandchildren Miranda, Sophia, Stephanie, Maggie, and Amanda; goddaughters Carly Marie and Abigail Bellinger; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased in death by her father, and best friend Kathy Newell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on  Monday August 21, 2023, at  10:00AM at Our Lady of Hope, Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
