Mrs. Rebecca L. Carpenter, 50, of Clyde Street, Fort Plain, NY went to heaven to be with the Lord on July 18th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at St. Peters Community Hospice.
She was born in Herkimer, NY on January 1, 1973, the daughter of Herbert and Margaret Burns Caldwell, both who predeceased her.
She attended Herkimer area schools. For over 20 years she had been working as a lunch lady at the Fort Plain Central Elementary School, and High School.
Rebecca had been living in Fort Plain the past 33 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, camping, and crafts. She was also the first lady of the Cherry Valley Assembly of God.
On September 2, 1989 in Little Falls, NY she married David Carpenter, Jr.
She was predeceased by her parents, her father in law David Carpenter, Sr., uncle Charles Carpenter, and grandmother Rose Christman.
Survivors include; her husband of 33 years, Rev. David Carpenter, Jr.; son William and his wife Alisha; daughter Elizabeth Carpenter; grandchildren Caleb, Jace, Rylen, and Addison; siblings Sandra Gates, Earl Caldwell, Herbert Caldwell, Jr., Gidget Muzzy, eleanor Schrott, Frank Caldwell, Jeramy Caldwell; Sister in laws Carol Baldwin, Sheila Burcholzer, Wendy Richardson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday July 23, 2023 from 3:00-7:00 Pm at the Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. A Funeral will be held on Monday July 24, 2023 at the Cherry Valley Assembly of God, 37 Alden Street, Cherry Valley, Ny 13320. Burial will follow at Fort Plain Cemetery Assoc.
