Mr. Malcolm J. Cook, 72, of Highland Terrace, Fort Plain, New York, died, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at his home following a long illness.
Born on July 23, 1937 in Johnstown, NY, he was the son of Milo Cook, Sr. and Mildred Giddings. Mr. Cook was educated at Canajoharie High School. For the past 6 years Mr. Cook has resided in Fort Plain during the summer months, spending the winters in Brooksville, FL.
Most recently Mr. Cook drove Tractor Trailer for Ruan Transportation, Amsterdam, NY; driving for 53 years on the road.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and obtained the rank of Private First Class.
Mr. Cook was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Canajoharie.
He enjoyed fishing and reading.
On October 5, 1962 he married Leona Becker. In addition to his wife, Leona Cook of Fort Plain, NY, he is also survived by daughters, Cynthia (William) Smith of Little Falls, NY, Kimberly Liddon of Ames, NY; step-daughter, Carol (William) Barnes of Spencer Port, NY; Step-Son, Donald Cramer of Nelliston, NY; brother, Martin Cook of Palm Bay, FL; sisters, Margaret Stefo of Johnstown, NY, Mabel Failing of Fort Plain, NY, Gail Dicks of Whitesboro, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
