Mrs. Doris N. Simpson, 73, of Moyer Street, Canajoharie, NY died at home on March 14, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 18, 1949 in Amsterdam, NY she was the daughter of Charles Morey and Harriet Spencer Morey. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, and had been a resident of Canajoharie since 2012, previously living in Sprakers.
Mrs. Simpson had worked as a screen printer for LaSalle Labs and was a laborer at Beech-Nut for 8 years.
She attended the Fordsbush Bible Church.
Mrs. Simpson enjoyed crocheting and camping in the RV. The first year she and her husband had the RV they traveled the USA for almost an entire year.
On January 28, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stone Arabia, Doris was married to John L. Simpson.
She was predeceased by her husband John on October 28, 2022, her parents, her sister Betty Boyce, and brothers Frankie, Charlie, and William.
Survivors include her children; Michele Bramer and Ronald, Harry Starr, John L. Simpson, Jr, Jaime Simpson, Kelly Simpson, and Dominick Simpson; brothers Richard, Robert, Harry, and Kelly; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral service will be held onMonday, March 20, 2023 at 7:00PM, at the chapel of Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, Inc. The family invites friends and relatives to join them at calling hours from 4:00 to 7:00PM on March 20, 2023, prior to the funeral home.
