Obituary of Beverly E. Douglas

Mrs. Beverly E. Douglas, 81, of Fort Plain, NY, died on January 21, 2023 at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Facility following a brief illness.
She was born on July 13, 1941, the daughter of the late Clifford and Mabel Prime Cook.
Bev was a graduate of East Springfield Central School, a class of 5 students, where she enjoyed playing soccer and softball.
Most recently she worked as an office manager for the Cherry Valley Memorials in Cherry Valley.
She lived her entire life in the local area, and was a member of the Freysbush Lutheran Church, assisted as the bookkeeper for the Fort Plain Senior Citizens Center, was a den leader for many years for the Fort Plain Boy Scouts, had enjoyed time at their camp at Otsego Lake, boating, and collecting angels.
On September 26, 1959 at the Freysbush Lutheran Church she married Roger L. Douglas, together they celebrated 59 years of marriage, with his passing on July 10, 2019.
Mrs. Douglas was predeceased by her brother Walter Cook, and her sister and her husband Beatrice and William Covney.
She is survived by her daughter Wanda and her husband Jeff Eaker; Son Wayne and his wife Terri Douglas; Grandchildren Joshua (Rachel)Eaker, Emily (Taylor) Douglas, Kara (Steve) House;great granddaughter Harper ; brother David Cook; Sisters, Barbara Bridger and her husband Robert, Helen Brown and her husband Butch; sister in law Carolyn Cook; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday January 25th, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Gray-Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. The family invites friends and relatives to viewing on Tuesday January 24, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Freysbush Cemetery in the spring.
