Obituary of Stephen Michael Ferjanec

Stephen "Mike" Ferjanec, 73, of Saltsman Road, St. Johnsville, NY died on January 5, 2023 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born in Gloversville, NY August 16, 1949, the son of the late Steven Ferjanec and Mildred Polmateer Denmark.
He was a graduate of Johnstown High School, class of 1967.
Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the US Marine Corp., where he proudly served his country for 20 years. After his military career he started working as an electrician with Toms Electric, following this he had worked at Beech-Nut as an electrician and then had worked at FMCC.
Mike was an active member of the Marine Corp League of Mayfield, an Ephratah Rural Cemetery Board Member, a lifetime member of the Ephratah Rod and Gun Club, as well as enjoying trap shooting, reloading and splitting firewood.
On August 5, 1978, at the Reformed Church of Johnstown, he married Karen Myers.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his son Chad Michael Ferjanec on February 21, 2022.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Ferjanec; sister Allison Denmark; Grandchildren Aiden Ferjanec and Garrett Ferjanec; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, from 1:00-3:00PM at Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. A Funeral will follow at 3:00PM.
Burial will take place at Ephratah Rural Cemetery in the spring.
