Miss Mary Hudyncia, 96, of Main Street, Fort Plain, NY, died peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home with her family by her side.
Born on June 13, 1926 in Little Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Alex Hudyncia Sr. and Julia Doshna Hudyncia. She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 1943, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mary Hudyncia grew up and worked on the family’s dairy farm where she enjoyed spending time taking care of the animals and tending to her flowers and garden crops.
She was born into the St. Peter's & Paul's Orthodox Church faith, but recently had associated with the Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was predeceased by her brother Michael, his wife Mella and her sister-in-law Joann Hudyncia, wife of her brother Alex.
Mary is survived by her brother Alex Hudyncia Jr. of Fort Plain, NY; 10 nieces, nephews, and their spouses and several great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 6th, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 am at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339 with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery in East Herkimer, NY.
