Obituary of Lovona M. Farquhar

Mrs. Lovona Farquhar, 77, of State Highway 67, Fort Plain, NY died on December 22, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 5th, 1945, in Little Falls, NY the daughter of Raymond Suits and Elva Avery Suits.
She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School.
Most recently she had worked at Amsterdam Print, prior to that she had worked as a sewer for Johnstown Knit for many years until the closure of the plant.
She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, and enjoyed camping, fishing and had enjoyed snowmobiling when she was younger.
On November 6, 1965, in the Town of Ephratah, NY she married Richard Farquhar.
She was predeceased by a sister Claudia Suits, and a baby brother.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard Farquhar; daughters Tracey and her husband Mark Hisert, and Tina and her husband William Putnam; sisters Barb Young, Loretta Kretser, and Phyllis Lambert; grandchildren, Dillon Hinkle, Danielle Hinkle, Courtney Putnam, and Allyson Putnam; great granddaughter Lovona Bennett; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday December 27th, 2022, at 1:00PM, at Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317, with Rev. Cynthia Leonard officiating. The family invites friends and relatives to calling hours prior to the service from 11:00am-1:00PM at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Ephratah Rural Cemetery in the spring.
