Obituary of Lydia Maxine Shibley

Mrs. Lydia Maxine Shibley born March 23, 1937 to Isaac and Ethel Moore, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Lydia married her true love Josiah Domar Shibley on March 2, 1957 and shared 41 Beautiful years with him before his passing in 1998. Together Lydia and Josiah had four children Laura Dillman (Roger), Kurt Shibley (Leslee), Theresa Shibley and Josiah Shibley (Lillian). Lydia was devoted GIGi to her grandchildren, Christina and Andy Berube, Stephanie and Kevin Dineen, Michael and Sara Dillman, Amber Shibley, JJ Shibley, Kevin Garlock and Anna, Justin Darrow, BillyJo Darrow and Krystana, Bryan Shibley, Mitchell Shibley, Brooke Shibley, Zoe Shibley; and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Madalin Dunckel, Anna Jansen; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her husband; son, Kurt; and great-grandson predeceased her. She enjoyed many wonderful years working and assisting at Johnstone's Florist with Tim, Chuck, Myra, Lynn, and Lori. Lydia dedicated her life to her church Freysbush United Methodist Church. Through her devotion to her church Lydia guided so many young and old alike towards God. Lydia will be greatly missed by her family and friends however she will be embraced by those who passed before her. The family is asking in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Freysbush United Methodist Church. A Graveside service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 1:00PM at Freysbush Cemetery followed by a reception at Lydia’s beloved church.
