Obituary of Mildred L. Fuller

Mrs. Mildred L. Fuller, 94, of Abeling Street, Canajoharie, New York died Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Ellis Hospital, following a brief illness. Born on July 15, 1927 in Spring Valley, Rockland County, NY, she was the daughter of Harvey DeGroat and Marietta Veross DeGroat. She was a graduate of Walden High School, Class of 1945 and had been a resident of Canajoharie since 1958, previously residing in Middletown, NY. Mrs. Fuller was the Secretary for the Superintendent of Canajoharie Central School from 1967-1988. She also worked as Secretary for both Middletown State Hospital and Walkill State Hospital. She spent 42 years in the secretarial field. Mrs. Fuller was a member of St. John's & St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Canajoharie. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards, her favorite game being Bridge. On September 19, 1948 in Middletown, NY, Mildred was married to Leigh W. Fuller. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2013. Her sister, Josephine Iorlano; brother, Sidney DeGroat; and granddaughter, Amber Lynn Fuller also predeceased her. Mrs. Fuller is survived by her son, Gary Fuller and JoAnn of Canajoharie, NY; daughter, Donna L. Kline and Gary of North Syracuse, NY; brother, Harvey DeGroat of Newburgh, NY; sister, Sylvia Prezziosi of New York; grandsons, Leigh Kline, J. Regan, Chad Smith; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Noon at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 10:00-12:00PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Gerald B.H. Soloman National Cemetery in Schuylerville following the service at 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in memory of Mrs. Mildred L.
