Obituary of Minerva Kathy Sanford

Minerva “Kathy” Sanford, 69yrs of Fort Plain NY, passed away December 17, 2021 at home unexpectedly of natural causes. Kathy was pre-deceased by her husband Roger Sanford, grandchild Matthew Bryan Johnson and lifelong best friend Ginger. Kathy worked many years for Ames department store in Palatine Bridge until it’s closing and finished her career working at Beech-nut, retiring in 2017. Kathy was a lifelong member of Victorious Life Church in Fort Plain. She devoted many hours to the Women’s and Children’s ministry. In her spare time Kathy enjoyed WWE wrestling, NASCAR family picnics, car rides and watching her son ride his Jet Ski’s and the memorable trip they took together to Disney World. Kathy was an animal lover and adored her two furbabies Harley (Dog) and Shadow (Cat). They were her world. Kathy is survived by her son Justin Johnson of Fort Plain, she adored him and their relationship is one to be admired. He was her world and he loved her wholeheartedly. Kathy had many family members those by blood and those she accepted into her circle with open arms. Kathy was a one of kind lady. Her love was a beacon of hope in a dim world. She will be missed greatly. Services are entrusted to the Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY. A graveside service will be held for friends and family on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at 10:00am at the Fort Plain Cemetery with Pastor Charlie Houle officiating.
