Obituary of Lois Marilyn Simmons

Mrs. Lois Marilyn Sanders Simmons, 90, of Palatine Bridge, New York died Thursday, December 16, 2021 at St. Johnsville Rehab and Nursing Center. Born on December 20, 1930 in Little Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Everett Frank Sanders and Bessie Delia Getman Sanders. She was a graduate of St. Johnsville Central School, Class of 1946. Lois became a Registered Nurse in 1964, graduating from Nathan Littauer Nursing School. In 1983, she obtained her MD from CIFAS University in San Domingo, Dominican Republic. She was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Simmons was employed as a Registered Nurse at various institutions in New York and Florida, retiring in 1997. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Mrs. Simmons enjoyed painting. She was predeceased by her daughters, Elizabeth McFee Durfee and Marilyn McFee Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah E. Dillenbeck and Glenda J. Dillenbeck of Nelliston, NY; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren,great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 1:00PM at Fort Plain Cemetery. Donations in memory of Mrs. Simmons may be made to a charity of one's choice.
