Mrs. Margaret Jane Gondarowski, 90, passed away peacefully into God’s care on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
Margaret was born on November 28, 1930, in Ilion, NY. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Pearl Musto. She attended New Paltz State College, earning a BS in Early Childhood Education in 1952. She taught at the Halsey School in Schenectady from 1952-1957. She was appointed to Elementary Teacher in Fort Plain in September 1959, where she taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades for the next 30 years, retiring in June of 1989.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Henry Gondarowski, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her sisters Mary Zawilinski, Rosalie Mustico, and Anne Ombrellaro.
Margaret was a passionate educator and devoted her life to helping others. She was adored by her students. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope in Fort Plain, and was very active in the church, including serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at Mass.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 3, at 11 am at Our Lady of Hope, Fort Plain. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call at Our Lady of Hope from 9:30 - 11 am Wednesday, November 3.
