Obituary of Yvonne Lynne Fisher

Mrs. Yvonne Lynne Fisher, 72, of Center Street, Fort Plain, New York died Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, following a brief illness. Born on October 2, 1948 in Cobleskill, NY, she was the daughter of Dale G. Vedder and Corinne D. Brown Hadsell. She was a graduate of Cherry Valley High School, Class of 1966 and attended Cobleskill College. She was a resident of the local area most of her life. Yvonne worked for the Fort Plain OTB as the manager and cashier for many years. She was of Methodist faith. Mrs. Fisher was a member of the VFW Earl Stock Memorial Post #3275 Ladies Auxiliary, and American Legion Post #554 Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with friends. On January 11, 1975 Yvonne married Byron L. "Fish" Fisher. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2004. Her parents; sister, Donna Jewell; brother, Charles Hadsell; step-son, Drew Fisher; step-daughter, Dara Horning also predeceased her. Mrs. Fisher is survived by her sisters, Pamela and Russell Mattice, Claudia and Michael Irwin; step-sons, Dean Fisher, Dale Fisher, Darrin Fisher, Staff Sgt. Devin Fisher; step-daughters, Diana Slemp, Darcy Rudolph; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 1:00PM at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 11:00-1:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fort Plain Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Yvonne L.
