Obituary of Robert J. Rickard

Mr. Robert J. Rickard, 75, of Cliff Street, Canajoharie, New York, died, Friday, October 1, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. Born on July 1, 1935 in Lock Haven, PA, he was the son of Vaugh Rickard and Eula Dickenson Rickard. He was a graduate of Lock Haven High School, class of 1953 and had been a resident of Canajoharie for the past 10 years. Mr. Rickard was employed with American Color & Chemical in Lock Haven for 28 years. He had also worked for BASF as a dye stuff chemist in Rensselaer for over 10 years, retiring in 1996. Mr. Rickard served with the National Guard in PA for 7 years. He was a member of the BPOE Eagles of Canajoharie #3846 and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Rickard is survived by his wife, Alena C. Rickard of Canajoharie, NY; son, Robert J. Rickard, Jr. of Schodock Landing, NY; daughters, Julie L. Rickard of Rantoul, IL, Marie R. Svensson of Springfield Township, PA; 2 granddaughters and 1 great-grandson. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
