Mrs. Marion A. Benton, 92, of Third Ave., Canajoharie, New York, died early Monday, October 11, 2010 at her home.
Born on January 20, 1918 in Springfield Center, NY, she was the daughter of Fred Young and Maud Wilsey Young. She was a graduate of East Springfield School District and had been a resident of the Canajoharie area since 1954.
Mrs. Benton was employed at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie as a Lab Technician for 20 years.
She was of Protestant faith.
Mrs. Benton enjoyed playing golf in her younger years.
On July 13, 1939 in Cherry Valley, NY, she was married to Sanford Benton. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2008. She was also predeceased by 13 of her siblings.
Mrs. Benton is survived by her son, Sanford E. Benton of Gloversville, NY; sister, Virginia Haley of AZ; grandchildren, Deborah & Kurt Jordan of Broadalbin, NY, Duane & Beth Benton of Johnstown, NY; and 6 great-grandchildren.
