Obituary of David S. VanWormer

Mr. David S. VanWormer, 59, of Dahlen Street, Nelliston, New York died Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility in Amsterdam.
Born on January 7, 1961 in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of Gerald VanWormer and Fay H. Dillenback Tooker. He was a graduate of Fort Plain High School and was a lifetime area resident.
David worked for Kasson-Keller in Fonda for over 21 years.
He was a member of the Reformed Church of Canajoharie, where he served as Deacon.
He was a member of the former Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service as a dispatcher, driver, and EMT. He loved NASCAR and was a fan of Dale Ernhardt, Jr., and Trace Elliott.
His parents predeceased him.
Mr. VanWormer is survived by his daughter, Allyson Harris; grandchildren, granddaughter Tru Mullaney, grandson Hunter Mullaney, and granddaughter Sandra Clark; cousins, Scott Dillenback, Janine Nelson, and Colleen Sieme.
Special thanks to the staff at Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility and especially to Stacey and Maryellen, the nurses who showed so much compassion to David, St. Mary's Healthcare of Amsterdam, and The Cancer Center.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 11:00AM at The Reformed Church of Canajoharie. The family will receive relatives and friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery. We ask that anyone in attendance please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
