Obituary of Rodney G. Schrell
Please share a memory of Rodney to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rodney Gregory Schrell, Jr., 32 years, most recently of Main Street, Fultonville, NY died suddenly, with his loving fiancé, Catherine Griffin and their faithful dog, Rex.
He was born on June 24, 1988 at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital, the son of the late Rodney G. Schrell, Sr., and Beverly Bullock Franklin who survives. He was a graduate of Schoharie High School but had spent most of his school years at Canajoharie. He later would complete a culinary arts program in California.
Rodney was most recently employed as the assistant manager at Value Storage in Albany, NY.
He had previously served in the US Army from 2012-2016, where he was stationed in Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
He was of Methodist faith, had enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and football in school. He also loved to use what he had learned from his culinary arts program, to prepare food for family and friends whenever he could. Rodney would still find time to play a round of golf with his “brothers” or play video games. Everyone that ever met him will remember him as a caring person and was known to give the best hugs. Still while doing all of this he always made time to make his phone call to his Mama.
Rodney is survived by his Mother and Stepfather, Beverly and Nate Franklin; Favorite cousin, Tyler Rush; “Brothers”, Frank Sultan and Tony Pack; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
