Mr. George F. Thurber, 75, of Krutz Road, Palatine Bridge, New York died Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on November 23, 1944 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, he was the son of Alvin Thurber and Maryann Reek Thurber. He had been a resident of the local area for the past 14 years, previously residing in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
He was the Owner and Operator of George’s Games & Music in Rhode Island.
Mr. Thurber was a veteran of the US Army, serving from September 1965- June 1967.
George was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he loved his dogs.
His parents and brother, Alvin predeceased him.
Mr. Thurber is survived by his significant other, Deborah Potter of Palatine Bridge, NY; daughters, Linda and Mark Mezzancella of Rhode Island, April Thurber of Rhode Island; grandchildren, Mark Mezzancella, Jr., Brittany Mezzancella; and great-granddaughter, Aria Mezzancello.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
