Obituary of Marilyn J. Bellinger

Mrs. Marilyn J. Bellinger, 86, of Canajoharie, New York, died Monday, April 24, 2017 at Palatine Nursing Home, with her family by her side. Born on May 4, 1930 in Gloversville, NY, she was the daughter of Arthur M. Fleming and Genevieve R. Hyde Fleming. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 1947 and Mary Mount College in Tarrytown, NY Class of 1984, with a BA in International Marketing Sales. Mrs. Bellinger worked for Beech-Nut in Canajoharie from the mid 1960's until her retirement in 1995, working in the International Marketing Sales Department. She was a lifetime area resident that resided in Pennsylvania from 1981-1992 for work. Marilyn was a member of St. John's & St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Canajoharie. She was a past Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of the Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, the Canajoharie PTA, Canajoharie AFS program, and was a literacy volunteer. Her grandson, Jeremy and sisters, Joan Swain and Lois Fleming, predeceased her. Mrs. Bellinger is survived by her 3 daughters, Debbie L. & Barry Christman of Fort Plain, NY, Cindy L. Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Amy C. Lawton of Gloversville, NY; sisters, Phyllis "Chickie" Mallery and Keith, Janice Webb, 7 grandchildren, Jessica Daniels, Catherine Daniels, Stephanie Hooker, Phillip Hooker, Kellie Lawton, Shaun Lawton, Caitlin Lawton; 4 great-grandchildren, Michael, Ethan, Madison, Tressa. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:00am at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
